This page explains how to delete your Ayo account and the data associated with it. It applies to the Ayo app published on Google Play by Mesix.
You only have an Ayo account if you chose to sign in with Google — to sync your dictionaries across devices, or to buy and spend AI Credits on photo/text capture. If you use Ayo signed out — fully supported, and the default — you have no account with us and we hold no data about you; see Removing data from your device below.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
Option 2 — By email (if you no longer have the app installed)
If you only want to erase your vocabulary — and keep your account, your AI Credits and your cloud-sync window — you can do that yourself at any time, from the app:
This permanently deletes every dictionary, group and word — from this device, and, if you are signed in, from your Ayo account as well. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Your account itself is kept: your Google profile, your AI Credit balance, your cloud-sync window and your app settings are unaffected, and you stay signed in. To remove those too, delete your account using the steps above.
Deletion is complete: we do not keep an anonymised or deactivated copy of your account. We permanently remove all of the following from our servers:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your Google account email address, name, given/family name, profile picture URL, and Google account identifier | Permanently deleted. Your account record is erased outright, not merely disabled. Signing in again creates a brand-new, empty account. |
| Every dictionary, group and word you have synced to us — including each word's meanings and captured spellings | Permanently deleted from our servers — see Removing data from your device for what this does and does not do to the copy on your phone. |
| Your AI Credit balance and cloud-sync window | Permanently deleted. |
| Your AI Credit history (every grant and spend) | Permanently deleted. |
| Your capture job records, including any stored capture results | Permanently deleted. |
| Your sign-in sessions | Permanently deleted. You are signed out of every device. |
If you ever bought an AI Credit pack, the receipt — the product, the price, the purchase date and the store's verification response — is kept after your account is deleted, for accounting purposes. It is unlinked from your account the moment your account is deleted: it can no longer be used to identify or restore it, and it carries only the email address it was purchased with, not your other profile details.
Ayo sells one-time credit packs, not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel — a purchase is complete the moment it is made. Payments are processed by Google Play; we never hold your card details.
Ayo stores your dictionaries locally on your device, and does so whether or not you ever sign in — the device is the copy of record, and the app is fully usable without an account. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers; it does not touch the copy on your phone, and Ayo simply continues working offline, exactly as it did before you signed in.
To remove the local copy too, either use Reset all dictionary data as described above, or uninstall Ayo — uninstalling permanently removes all data Ayo has stored on your device.
